Jia Lynn Yang joined FORTUNE as a general-assignment reporter in January 2005. She writes about technology, among a wide variety of other topics. Before joining FORTUNE, Yang covered politics and policy at the Los Angeles Times' Washington Bureau and at National Journal magazine. She also worked as an editorial assistant at the Boston Review in Cambridge, Mass.
Yang grew up in the Washington, DC area and is a graduate of Yale University with a B.A. in philosophy.
